Hapé – Tribal snuff, sacred Indian medicine

HAPE DR PRUSZAK

What is Hapé?

Hapé is one of the most popular types of tobacco among the indigenous tribes of the Amazon. Its base consists of leaves from wild-growing tobacco plants, which are finely ground. Often, tobacco producers combine them with other plants, flowers, ashes, or dried herbs. There are many different compositions of Hapé, and their ingredients depend on the characteristics of the tribe producing them. However, the base is always the same – tobacco from the Amazon (often also called mapacho). Note! It is even several times stronger than the type used in cigarettes.

Since ancient times, tobacco has been one of the most valuable medicines for the inhabitants of South America, used to alleviate almost every disease and ailment. It quickly gained popularity among people not belonging to any tribe, many of whom quickly acquired the skill of preparing it themselves.

Contrary to appearances, it is worth knowing that preparing good and valuable Hapé is not easy. Tobacco leaves must be carefully selected, then dried in the sun, crushed, and sifted. In the final stage, a special sieve is often used. It allows obtaining a fine powder with a size of 125 microns.

As an addition, one can find ashes of very different plants, hence the effects and effectiveness of Hapé can vary greatly. The mixture also has a varied color, ranging from sandy to gray, and even green.

Hapé and its medicinal properties

HAPE

Indigenous tribes of the Amazon have been using tobacco for medicinal purposes for years. It is a well-known analgesic and an effective way to get rid of some insects.

Moreover, Hapé is attributed with the ability to reduce fatigue and deal with excessive hunger and thirst. It is also worth mentioning that Hapé has very strong antibacterial and antifungal properties. It copes well with candidiasis of the upper respiratory tract and fungal infections of the digestive system.

In the case of a body excessively polluted with harmful toxins, the result of using medicinal tobacco may be cleansing vomiting. In local medicine, it is considered a blessing and a sign of the human body’s purification from unnecessary and harmful substances.

Tobacco contained in Hapé is also said to support and intensify the action of medicinal plants used in its production. Many people believe it can be visionary. This is due to the presence of two alkaloids: harman and norharman. Their mode of action is very similar to harmine and harmaline. These substances effectively block monoamine oxidase, thus counteracting depressive states.

Hapé also contains nicotine, whose presence directly contributes to increased blood flow, as well as significantly supporting better and more effective stimulation of neurotransmitters. Such a situation very positively influences the visible improvement of concentration, improves contact with the body, and allows for transition into a holistic mode of thinking.

It is often said that even taking small amounts of Hapé at irregular intervals can contribute to decalcification of the pineal gland. This gland is responsible for the circadian perception and proper functioning of the immune system. In connection with this theory and the growing popularity of Hapé worldwide, scientists have conducted numerous studies that debunk the myth of the harmful effects of tribal tobacco on the pineal gland.

Interestingly, during numerous tests, it turned out what may be responsible for the calcification of the pineal gland. These are mainly harmful substances such as fluoride or mercury, which increase the risk of Alzheimer’s or Parkinson’s disease.

How to use Hapé?

There are two ways to use Hapé. The first one involves using a special device called a Tepi, through which the tobacco is blown into the nose by another person. Tepi is usually made of bamboo or bone. The device is designed so that the side entering the mouth has a slightly larger opening than the one placed in the nose.

The second method of applying Hapé involves using a slightly different tool than Tepi. In this case, a Kuripe, acting as a kind of self-adhesive applicator, is used. The device is equipped with a V-shaped blowpipe. One of its parts is placed in the nose, and the other in the mouth. Kuripe allows for self-administration of tobacco.

The significance of using Tepi and Kuripe

The indigenous inhabitants of the Amazon believe that the method of applying tobacco is as important as its composition. It’s no wonder that they attach great importance to application rituals. The use of tepi requires the presence of another person who assists in the ritual. Their task is to blow the dose of tobacco into the nostrils of the recipient with the right force. The intention and energy of the person blowing the powder are very important, as we somewhat take on the entire emotional baggage of that person during the application. In the case of using Kuripe, the application can be easily performed independently.

According to Amazonian tribes, using Tepi when administering Hapé creates a personal and intimate atmosphere between the giver and the receiver. This is justified and natural because these individuals connect through mouths, noses, and breaths. According to the beliefs of the Amazonian tribes, the connection of one person’s intention and energy passes to the other, which constitutes permission to perform healing.

Due to the specific course of the ritual, people who have no experience in using Hapé should seek help from an experienced person. Using Tepi instead of Kuripe would be much better. After placing tobacco in one nostril, it is almost immediately necessary to do the same with the other one. Administration is not always easy. It can be quite a difficult and overwhelming task for someone who has never done it or has little experience.

What does using Hapé really offer?

The population of the Amazon tribes mainly treats Hapé as a medicinal remedy. However, this specific tobacco has a much deeper effect, primarily allowing for achieving tranquility and deeper self-understanding.

Many people even claim that taking tobacco allows the body to enter a relaxing and meditative state. For this reason, and also because of its medicinal properties, Hapé is considered highly sacred in the Amazon. Rituals associated with it are conducted with great concentration, respect, reverence, and care.

What dosage of Hapé will be best?

Based on experience, research, and beliefs of the tribes associated with Hapé, it is extremely important to administer the powder to both nostrils almost simultaneously. However, it is not only the technique that matters but also the amount of the substance administered.

During the first application, it is best to start with a dose that is no larger than a pea. It is also worth keeping in mind that each organism may react slightly differently to tobacco. Therefore, experimenting will be a good solution. Of course, while adhering to safety rules and not administering too large a dose of Hapé at once. Trial and error method will be the most beneficial solution for anyone who wants to find the most optimal dose for themselves.

To increase the effectiveness of taking Hapé, it is worth providing yourself with a comfortable space and solitude. In the meantime, clear your mind and focus only on the actions you are performing.

Ultimately, Hapé has purifying properties. However, it is worth bearing in mind that after application, some uncomfortable symptoms may appear. Among them are burning sensation, runny nose, or even vomiting. Fainting may also occur, although this is an extremely rare situation.

Hapé – why is it worth it?

In the case of Hapé, it is extremely important to approach the subject properly. It is worth remembering that this is not a drug, so there is no need to demonize its use similar to other nasal remedies.

Especially since no scientific studies (and there have been quite a few conducted on this topic) have proven any negative or harmful effects of Hapé on the human body.

Hapé producers, regardless, always prioritize respect for the plant and its characteristic properties. According to the beliefs of Amazonian tribes, each plant represents a certain special state of consciousness, which during the use of Hapé visits human consciousness. It is also important to utilize the natural properties of the plant, devoid of artificial and chemically loaded additives. We are exposed to their effects quite intensively every day.

It is worth knowing that there are dozens (if not hundreds) of Hapé varieties. Each tribe has its own unique recipe for tobacco production. They differ not only in terms of the plants used in production but also in terms of properties and intensity of action. Although the composition and appearance of Hapé often turn out to be quite different, the fact remains unchanged that it is a natural product. It has a positive effect not only on health but also on well-being. Hapé allows for regaining peace of mind and calming the nerves, which in today’s complex and rapidly advancing world becomes incredibly necessary, valuable, and valuable.
