Be happy whenever you want!
Almost everyone has heard the hit single “Don’t Worry, Be Happy” by Bobby McFerrin. The song communicates the message of being happy in a very catchy way. Bobby’s simple message has certainly caught the interest of many people, telling them not to worry.
Living a happy, vibrant, and optimistic life is wonderful, and also good for your health. Being happy actually protects you from life’s stresses. Stress is linked to major causes of death, such as heart disease, cancer, and stroke.
One of the better things ever said is: “The only thing that is always the same in life is change,” and we can make necessary changes in our lives if we choose to. Even if we find ourselves in an unbearable situation, we can always find comfort in knowing that it too shall change.
People are different now, as they are more accepting of people as they are, avoiding conflicts, constant arguments, and letting go of all kinds of resentments.
If conflicts seem unavoidable, still try to understand the situation.
Happiness truly resides within everyone, and increasing it is a way to make life more beautiful and healthier.
Being happy is relatively easy; just decide to be a happy person. Most people are, for the majority of the time, able to choose whether they want to be happy or stressed at any given moment. Relaxed or worried. The choice is really simple; just choose to be a happy being.
You can do it in several ways.
Being grateful is a wonderful attitude. We have so many reasons to be grateful. Thank the taxi driver for safely getting you home, thank the chef for a wonderful dinner, and thank the person who washes the windows. Also, thank the mail carrier for bringing your letters, thank the police officer for a safe passage, and thank the Divine for your existence.
Some news is stressful.
Some people just can’t start their day without a daily dose of news.
Try and think about how 99% of the news we hear or read is bad news. Starting the day with bad news doesn’t seem sensible.
Manage your time. Time is precious and too important to waste. Time management can be viewed as a list of rules that involves planning, setting goals, planning, creating lists of things to do, and setting priorities.
These are the basics of time management that must be understood in order to develop the skill of personal time management effectively.
These basic skills can be further honed to include the finer points of each skill that can give you extra time to achieve desired results.
More on this subject I wrote about in the book “The Effective Self.”
Laugh and laugh heartily every day. Heard a good joke? Share it with friends or family. As they say, “Laughter is the best medicine.”
